Project "Education for Democracy

The Republic of Moldova started the democracy development only after collapse of USSR in 1991. Since that time the democratic traditions didn't settle down in the Moldovan society.
The success of the democracy development depends on the principles of democracy, which should change the minds of the citizens. Only if each generation will share the democratic values and understand the significance of democracy, this form of government will be successful and stable.
In order to find out how democracy works we should study it. The evidence of the important role of democracy learning is the fact that totalitarian and authoritarian regimes try to establish the control over the information that is transferred to students in educational institutions and via the mass media. Nevertheless, the absence of the totalitarian government does not create in itself the steady democracy. Democracy cannot automatically teach people democratic values. That is why we should take into account education for democracy as an important matter.

The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of young people into initiative and responsible citizens, familiar with the principles of democracy and capable to appreciate this form of governing.
The result of the project is the youth's development of democratic views, stimulation of their civil activity.
